| The
Baseball Regina program objective is simple: To provide every player
with the opportunity to play, learn and have fun. Here's how we
accomplish this:
1. Play
with top quality coaches
· All Baseball Regina head coaches must be nationally
certified. Quality coaches ensure skill development and proper
techniques, enhancing the experience and development for all players.
Coaches must complete a security check.
2. Play
at your level
· At the Mosquito through Bantam ages, teams are divided
into three levels (A, AA, AAA). This allows every player, regardless
of their level, to enjoy the game with players of comparable skill.
· Teams are formed with a similar level of commitment -
each level has a different length of season depending on the interests
of the players - you can be done by June 30 (A level) - or keep
playing well into July or August (AA and AAA).
3. Play
with friends
· Once placed on a team, that team will remain together
for the entire season. BR does not make up all-star teams for
post-season play. Staying together promotes greater opportunities
for building team camaraderie and friendships.
4. Focus
on skill development for everyone
· Children have more fun if they have success in a
sport. Ensuring all players, at all levels get opportunities to
learn the fundamentals of the game, and then build on these over
their playing career is critical to our program.
· We offer indoor spring clinics in February and March
for all players, to provide extra opportunities to work on skills
before the regular season.
· We encourage all coaches to practice between games, and
to make the practices fun.
5. Play in tournaments
· Baseball Regina is a full member of the Saskatchewan
Baseball Association, along with hundreds of teams across Saskatchewan
in every major city and most small towns.
· BR teams therefore have lots of opportunities to play
in tournaments throughout the province and right in Regina during
the course of the season - tournaments are always fun for the
players!
6. Play
in Provincial and National competitions
· Because of our involvement with the Saskatchewan
Baseball Association, Baseball Regina teams at all levels are
able to compete in provincial playoffs and if successful advance
further towards national championships - there is lots of great
competition in the province.
7. Skills
Competitions/Fun Days/Annual Awards
· Our annual Awards Banquet - a social night out for
players and parents, and a chance to recognize individual, team
and volunteer achievements during the year
